Herbal Books I Want to Read

If you know me, you know that I have been researching herbology for many years now. I have taken a course through The Herbal Academy and have a subscription to their "Herbarium" online.
Recently though, I have found that online courses (or any course for that matter) just don't fit into my daily routine and I have a really hard time sitting down and "studying". So I have opted out of doing actual courses and I, instead, have found books that I want to read and learn from on my own.

The picture I have posted of a small stack of books here is a few of the ones I would like to read, but in reality, the list is... let's say, extensive.
The top of the book list is "Herbs for Children's Health" by Rosemary Gladstar. I want to read this book because it covers SO MANY different ailments in littles and ways to help them. I also like it because Rosemary doesn't only lean on the herbal, she also encourages that if you have to have an IMMEDIATE interference with something going on with your child, take them to the doctor!
I so much appreciate that about Rosemary Gladstars' books. She teaches how to use herbs sustainably and holistically to prevent illness and treat basic ailments. But when things get to be a lot and you, or your baby, need more than home healing, take them to the doctors. I don't know how many herbalists say this but it's said often. Herbology is not going to save someone from a heart attack, if your child has a broken bone or isn't breathing, take those people to the doctor.
But if your child, or yourself, have poison ivy, a common cold, earache, or eczema (there's a story here that I will share another time), you know basic things but not fun ones. She has some simple remedies that have been known to help throughout the centuries for that ailment.
Others by Rosemary I want to read include; "Herbs for Long Lasting Health", "Herbs for Common Ailments", "Herbal Healing for Men" - this is one of the ONLY herbal books I have found that actually focuses on men and their health, I wish there were more out there! - "Herbal Healing for Women."I know there are others but those are the ones I want to read first.

Another book I'm looking forward to reading is "Heart & Hands; A Midwife's Guide to Pregnancy and Birth" by Elizabeth Davis. I want to read this book because there is really SO MUCH about childbearing and birth that the common woman doesn't know. I want to be an herbalist someday who can assist with many different things, including pregnancy, so this makes sense to learn about.
Other books in the midwifery world I want to read and own include "Holistic Midwifery; a Comprehensive Textbook for Midwives in Homebirth Practice Volume 1 Care During Pregnancy" and "Holistic Midwifery; a Comprehensive Textbook for Midwives in Homebirth Practice Volume 2 Care During Labor and Birth" both by author Anne Frye.
There may be a time in the future when I pursue a license in Midwifery... who knows!
Others I want to own and don't yet include; "The Herbal Medicine-Makers Handbook; A Home Manual" by James Green, "Beauty Secrets of the Bible" by Ginger Garrett, "Rooted in Wonder" by Eryn Lynum, "Essential Oils of the Bible, connecting with God's Word through Natural Healing" by Randi Minetor, "The Lost book of Herbal Remedies" by Claude Davis and Nicole Apelian, and "Forgotten Home Apothecary: 250 Powerful Remedies at Your Fingertips" by Nicole Apelian Ph.D.
There are others not included in this post and I'm sure there will be lots more! I will probably update this list in the future! I want to learn as much as I can about herbs and God's creation. Using it to help my family stay healthy to the best of my ability.
There are so many reasons underlying that goal, but the biggest is that healthcare can be expensive. And if we don't have to spend money on a doctor who can cost hundreds of dollars, and at times thousands, then I would rather not.
This is just my stance on it! I hope you can find some of the books I have here and will take a gander at them! Because again it might even just help you fall asleep at night easier. You don't have to take any of them! But I wanted to share :)
There is a FREE downloadable PDF below with the list of all the books. Feel free to print it out!
Till next time! God Bless!
